About the Annual Benefit Sale
The Annual Benefit Sale is a fundraising event that attracts thousands of customers from all around the country. Throughout the year, over 500 Madison Children’s Museum volunteers repair and restore merchandise donated by American Girl, which the company has rejected as seconds or has accepted from customers as returns.
Funds raised over the past 20 years amount to approximately $14 MILLION! This year-round effort generates up to 35 percent of Madison Children’s Museum’s annual operating budget. These funds fuel the museum’s efforts to provide award-winning exhibits and help sustain the Family Access program, which provides low-income families with free or subsidized access to the museum and its programs.
The remaining proceeds support programs and services for children in Dane County through American Girl’s Fund for Children.
