New Building
Construction Updates
MCM’s new home, located at 100 N. Hamilton Street on Madison’s Capitol Square, will have more than three times the space of the museum’s previous facility, with an additional two floors for future expansion. Much looked-forward-to amenities such as on-site parking, family bathrooms, increased stroller parking and a café will enhance the visitor experience.
- The Community Concourse, free to the public, will provide mini-exhibits and tantalizing previews of what’s inside.
- The Early Learning Gallery will nurture children’s first experiences in a global village designed for children under 5 and their adult caregivers.
- The Art Studio will encourage kids to create a masterpiece any day of the week.
- Orientation & Lunch Rooms will be a launch site for school groups as they visit the museum and the state Capitol.
- Possibile-opolis will stir imaginations as a city in which art and science meet, and where anything can happen.
- The Rooftop Terrace, a rooftop ramble and clubhouse, will serve as a four-season park in the sky.
