Members Make a Difference

We are asking our members to consider giving to Members Make a Difference, a portion of our Capital Campaign built by the donations and contributions of our valued members. This is your chance to be a part of an important time in the history of Madison Children’s Museum, and to help us continue to be the best source of educational fun for children and their families in Madison. If 100 percent of our 1,900 members give the best gifts that they can, consider the significant portion of our goal we can achieve! Step Up

Step Up to see your favorite faces in the NEW Madison Children’s Museum!

Similar to brick or tile campaigns that support construction of new hospitals, convention centers, or other community facilities, Step Up offers you or your organization the opportunity to permanently display a photo around the grand staircase in the NEW Madison Children’s Museum! How much does it cost?

Step Up photos are priced at three levels:

Photos at the $1,000 level will be made into interactive spinners, while photos at the $150 and $500 levels will be stationary. Payment can be made by check or credit card.

Step Up is designed to include all members of our community. You can honor a child, grandchild, grandparent, or pet, or donate your gift to the museum to honor a child in the community. As a visual representation of the donors who helped make the new museum possible, no names will be attached to the photos. A Step Up book listing individuals’ names will be available at the museum’s front desk.

For consistency throughout the display, MCM is limiting photos to bust portraits of individuals or pets. If you don’t have a photo of this type, or would like a new portrait, MCM has teamed with Photo Express/expressportraits to provide studio portraits at a reduced price. For $15, the photographers at expressportraits will provide a professional portrait and send a properly sized photo directly to the museum. Orders placed by June 30, 2010, are guaranteed to have photos installed by the grand opening of the new Madison Children’s Museum in late summer 2010. Donors will be invited to an exclusive preview of the Step Up unveiling.

Circle for Children

The Circle for Children is made up of annual donors committed to the museum’s quality education and cultural opportunities for children and families. The following are Circle for Children donation levels:

Silver Circle $250 annual gift

• Unlimited admission for six named indivduals
• Subscription to quarterly MCM newsletter and events calendar
• Discounts and priority registration for birthday parties, special programs and classes
• Two complimentary parking coupons per visit*
• Free admission to Association of of Children’s Museum’s 165 member museums
• Admission and/or benefits at the Association of Science & Technology Centers’ 400 museums and science centers. Find an ASTC organization.
• Total of four MCM one-time family passes to share with friends (good for four people each – value $80)
• Complimentary copy of the MCM Annual Report
• Recognition in MCM Newsletter

Gold Circle $500 annual gift
All Silver Circle benefits plus:

• Total of six MCM one-time family passes to share with friends (good for four people each – value $120)
• Two invitations to annual museum after-hours event

Platinum Circle $1,000 annual gift
All Gold Circle benefits plus:

• Total of four invitations to annual museum after-hours event
• Two invitations to exclusive special events including private exhibit tours and the annual gala
• Complimentary use of the MCM birthday party room for a special event of your design
• In-museum recognition

Diamond Circle $2,500 annual gift
All Platinum benefits plus:

• Lunch or dinner and behind-the-scenes tour with MCM’s executive director and board president
• Discovery to Go van visit to Dane County destination of your choice, complete with mini-exhibits, activities, and museum gifts. Perfect for birthday parties, company picnics or other special events (value $500).
